As a horse lover, I really enjoy reading about other people's experiences with horses and Maureen has had some unique ones. Most horse people would agree that it's a bad idea to put a novice rider on a 5-year old thoroughbred stallion, but for some reason Maureen not only lived thru it, but succeeded in building a mutually beneficial relationship with this stallion. She always believed in the inherent intelligence of horses and treated them with the respect they deserve and I admire that. We can and do communicate with horses once we learn to control our body language, but I have my doubts about animal communicators. I need to see evidence that horses can see the pictures in our minds before I accept the idea that animal communicators actually can talk to animals. Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I admire Maureen's courage and independence.Product details

This is an amazing book. I hope to meet Maureen some day.
I lked this book as much as Toas of Equus. A great journey. Nice read. I've also had great success with Maureen's HGM hoof trimming method. My horse had a clubby right front hoof and over the course of several trims/months I have been able to bring the heel down and the hoof now looks more normal.
This book is a little "out there" compared to traditional thinking when it comes to horses, but maybe she's onto something. Worth a read and thought provoking.
anyone who owns a horse should read this book. i have read almost every book i can find on riding and training your horse. this is just simple stuff on how to get along better with your horse.
Having read over 20 books by well known and lesser known natural horsemanship and EFL experts, this book is THE BEST!!!
The information is gold and the way it is written is pure delight to read. Great one Maureen.
After 38 years with horses I still am trying to be a better partner for my horse. Understanding how they think is key. I follow Parelli Natural Horsemanship methods and this book was an extension for me. While Maureen does not care for PNH, I saw similarities.
And I see things I still need to work on to be more in tune with my horse spiritually.
The book was an entertaining read with many short stories about the horses in her life and how they changed how she relates to horses.
I didn't want it to end. So much into understanding the horse from the inside out.. Left me wanting more. LOVED the way the author shared the experiences of each horse she owned. Each horse she told stories about taught you something , more than just explaining a training concept. Great advocate. For kindness to th horse.
