This box set contains three romantic thrillers featuring military heroes and heroines. Meet the men and women of Edge Security.

E.D.G.E. Security is a covert international organization that handles jobs most governments won’t. The operators are the elite of the elite, soldiers and spies, chosen for their skills and secrecy, and their ability to go beyond the edge.

Book 1 Edge of Control

E.D.G.E wants to recruit Navy SEAL Jake ‘College’ Harrison but he’s skeptical of the good he can do as an E.D.G.E. operator. His trial assignment is a simple recon mission with the target being the Russian mob. The only interesting aspect of the job is the sexy IT tech, but Jake doesn’t want or need any trouble in his life and Dani has trouble written all over her.

No one knows who Danielle Everett really is, beyond the fact that she works as a simple tech at E.D.G.E. Security company. The new hire who gets the operator job she covets, frustrates her as much as he attracts her, because he digs beneath her carefully constructed identity and she has to fight the urge to run.

But when Dani’s best friend goes missing, she uses the hacking and thieving skills she’d learned as a child to find her, but in the process alerts her enemies that she’s still alive. Can she trust Jake to help her escape and save her friend, or will she push him to the edge of his control?

Book 2 Edge of Reason

Captain Cat ‘Valkyrie’ Richards knows it’s easier to be alone. As a special ops soldier she’s worked too hard to achieve what she has to jeopardize it by having a fling with a fellow soldier. Besides, she tried that once and the results almost shattered her. Now she’s stronger and focused on the mission at hand. Nothing will distract her.

As a Navy SEAL, Rhys ‘Lucky’ Lafayette knows how to achieve a mission no matter what the odds and when Rhys sees Cat he zeroes in on his target. She let him get close once before and he’s determined to make her see the benefits of it again.

But when E.D.G.E. sends the pair to recover a senator’s son kidnapped by the Boko Haram, the simple rescue turns into something much darker and deadlier. Will Cat and Rhys be able to forge themselves into the necessary fighting force able to accomplish the mission or will they be pushed to the edge of reason.

Book 3 Edge of Danger

Plagued with nightmares since her return from Iraq, Alyssa Harrison must keep her PTSD hidden. As a detective for the elite Counter-terrorism Bureau of the NYPD, she’s determined to keep her city safe. But now an elusive bomber is threatening New York and a military consultant is assigned to work with her. It doesn’t matter how sexy he is, she won’t let herself get close because she can’t let anyone know how broken she is.

As a special operations soldier with E.D.G.E. Security, Zach ‘Doc’ Grayson is used to putting the needs of those he protects over and above his own. So when the terrorist he’s tracking has plans for New York City, Zach has no choice but to follow. There, he meets a fiery detective who rebuffs his protection and challenges him at every turn, sparking his interest. But Zach fights the attraction, he’s on a mission and nothing will distract him.

The case takes Alyssa from New York’s grungiest subways to its most glittering galas and through it all Zach is beside her whether she wants him to be or not. Will their explosive attraction make everything fall apart or can they work together to save the city from the edge of danger?

Put it mildly, this is written in Adult English, including a number of f-words and adult situations. Readers looking for an Adult Romance book with a strong storyline and great action scenes will keep this book hidden, but readily retrievable when their church group has left, or their children have gone to sleep. In other words, if this were a film, it would likely be rated R.

Quick Take or First Thoughts Regarding Plot & Character Development

OPENING SEQUENCE: The writing, weaving in of action, humor, and sex is, mostly, superb. The opening action scene [PROLOGUE], set in Afghanistan, has a solid ring of authenticity that communicates to me that this writer may have personally witnessed such a harrowing risk of life personally. Having stated that, it also is just a bit over-the-top, in my opinion, but no more so than any of a hundred war movies I have seen.

MAIN BODY: As the narrative proceeds, though, the pace is slowed some, in order to build the characters and allow readers to sit back and enjoy a good yarn about a fictional security firm that is far more than a security firm. And, who knows, it could well be more fact than imagination…

CLOSING CHAPTERS: Unfortunately, the pace and style of each of the novels comes across as your more typical romance as you near the end of each story. What I mean to say is that it tends towards sentimentality. Although each does not end with a cliffhanger for the main story, there definitely is some hint of more to come.

Overall

The 700-plus pages has just about everything one could hope for in a romance based on members of an elite military group: action; authentic dialogue that resonates; romance and sex; suspense and conflict (both in terms of war and in terms of psychological). For me it was a bit over the top in action and in adult situations (language and sex) but not so extreme so as to warrant just three stars.

Bottom Line

Don’t be surprised to learn that this is going to be made into an Amazon Prime Video. Casting would be the biggest challenge.

Four stars out of five.

Nice set. First two books were good. By the time I got to the third ,I have to say ,I lost interest. I did not feel a connection to the characters at all. It seemed just like recycled ideas and filler. I just didn't care. All in all it was worth buying.
These books suck you in as a participant in the harrowing stories. I had to quit reading them at night because I couldn't put them down. Spell THRILLER in capital letters. I wondered if this author was a black ops operator in real life.
Each story a and it's characters draw you in further. I really enjoyed each one and am looking forward to the next. Each one different from the other, with well thought out stories and you get to keep track of the previous main characters. Well done.
I've previously reviewed 1+2 on their own pages. This book started out hard because we're introduced to new character- Allisa, but once we get her background- it makes sense. She's as tough as Dani and Cat from the previous books. And I'm glad Doc gets his own story and it explains the why's and what for's of his character. This is a ww/bm book, if that matters to you. It's a great HFN romantic suspense. Can't wait to get more books!
I love this series. These books keep you interested, there is never a dull moment. The characters are complex and well written. The descriptions and military insight are excellent. I recommend these books if you like Romantic Suspense with military ties.
This author created really fantastic and intense male and female characters who are strong, talented and independent thinkers. These first three books introduce and explain who and what Edge Security is all about. Each book covers a specific mission and introduces two important operators and love interests. The stories are full of action and suspense.
Ms. Loye's first 3 stories in the Edge Security Series had me reading late into the night and when I should have being something else. These stories are about a top top secret quasi military organization staffed by operatives from Canada and the US, soldiers whose experience in covert operations around the world is timely, real, and a wild cross between nerve wracking and just plain scary.

What I really liked 1) smart, strong, sassy, courageous women, 2) smart, bold, strong courageous men; 3) the women and men working together without any (or very little) gender angst; 4) intelligent conversation between talented strong women and the men who fought their natural instinct to protect while falling in love; 5) the timeliness of the stories that unfortunately mirror the many situations facing our county today. Another aspect I enjoyed was Ms. Loye's detailed descriptions of the units' handling of weapons, explosives, female superiors, SNAFU situations, and personal reactions to those situations. Now on to No. 4,5, and 6.
